Big disclaimer: not a health researcher. But back in 2020-2021 when we were trying to find appropriate proxy indicators for access to healthcare (a key factor to model for pandemic impacts) length of time to GP appointment was it. Then, I, a Pākehā woman with private health insurance 1/2
Show PostIn a leafy suburb had a ~24 hour wait for a regular GP appointment with my dr, same day for urgent AT MY GP. Now, it’s over a 10 day wait for one of the drs in the practise. Haven’t seen my GP since last year. That’s access to healthcare, reduced in real time.
