Enjoyed this. Positive, forward thinking with existing technology. The perturbome, I suppose. And it defines what success means for that-predictive power. That's different from mechanism. But mechanism means different things to different people, and, in any event, can be really hard.

But there’s no reason not to also work the other way get variant-level perturbations.

This is a really nice idea! I think that at the end of the day you need to get the experiments and GWAS to measure things that can be related to each other. I’m optimistic about leveraging GWAS to learn gene-level effects and then compare to gene-level perturbations.

It's been 30 years (!!!) since the conceptualization of GWAS. GWAS has driven tons of discoveries, but with recent experimental developments (CRISPR, single-cell omics), we thought it was time to think about how to drive the next 30 years of human genetics. doi.org/10.5281/zeno...

I used my JAX-based skills for codex to port the excellent Python3 LDSC spec to JAX and Polars. My intent here was to stress test my JAX skill definitions and find how I could improve rules and contexts--NOT to develop a replacement github.com/mancusolab/j...
