If you want nice things (or even just adequate, functional things) you have to pay for them. Property taxes are the main source of municipal revenues. Yet the same people that complain they're too high also complain that our infrastructure and facilities need repair. You can't have it both ways.

It is Referendum Day here in Alberta. If you didn't vote through a mail-in ballot (like the Log Driver and I did), or at the advance polls last week, get out there today and vote. Canada and Alberta are better together, not apart.
