No matter how far in the future a video game takes place, I have an immediate aversion to any sort of laser/plasma weapon. In this house we know kinetic weapons are just better. You keep your refracted light/superheated plasma I am hitting you with the chunk of metal from my explosion tube.

the brand placement was a design choice. it is to harken back to those scifi movies of the 80s and 90s. the theme of this game is mimicing exactly that. the retro/futuristic scifi with ad placements and everything.
