My mum was was sent home from hospital with abdominal pain from 'constipation'. She spent 7 weeks in hospital with severe sepsis and an emergency colostomy (30% chance of surviving the op) from a ruptured colon, having gone back the next day. It's not only racial, it's institutionalised sexism too.

Every time you get a new chronic illness, you should be assigned a buddy who's already (unfortunately) well experienced in it... because most of our doctors aren't very helpful.
