this extremism is as ignorant as the full-tilt desire to replace all humanity with AI. it has many excellent uses. we must address its problems and pry it out of the hands of fascist oligarchs but the extreme denialism is just not engaging with reality.

You are asserting that GenAI is pointless because it makes mistakes. I am pointing out to you that a fundamental technology we depend upon today (computers) also frequently made mistakes and it took decades before it truly replaced human calculation

There’s a lot of strange hate. Pros and cons-talk is unforgivable. I use it for proof reading too. And math. Not because I can’t proof read or do math, but because it eliminates boring and time consuming tasks without changing the end result. Math is math.
