Was wearing this t-shirt in the pub last week and the barman asked where was the best place to start with The Fall. To which I guess the answer is: right here, at the beginning

Sleek, clean, shimmering, a logical extension of the motorik/disco double DNA strand that emerged in the years prior on various fronts, a hell of a chorus, an incredible ending. The alternate Simple Minds path where the band didn’t go all U2 would still be leaving its mark several times over.

#albumoftheday #5debutalbumsSF3 #FallFriday The Fall - Live At The Witch Trials (1979) An astonishing debut. Not so much ploughing their own furrow, but in a whole different field - in a faraway land. So innovative, e.g. the hands-off production. Excellent. Best track - Industrial Estate #NowPlaying
