A trainspotter is on my train. The man opposite is quizzing him with no sense of disdain or pity - engaging with the man’s passion even though it’s not remotely his thing. I love them both. Easily the most heartening distraction I’ve had in a train in years. More of this kind of thing please!

Time spent north of the border last week put me in mind to revisit this. Happy to say that it more than held up to the memory; old-school quality filmmaking with a finely-turned Alan Sharp screenplay and more than a hint of a John Ford vibe
