Social media makes some conversations more accessible, but also makes the blatherings of people who don't think too hard infinitely more available than the gated print and broadcast culture some of us grew up in. As David Perry says, it's great for listening, but not good for coherent disagreement.

I think people have caught on that you write longer threads and end up waiting for you to finish the thread, but because how bluesky works they lose it by the time that happens

no, I love a long thread. verbosity isn’t bad, and reducing everything to a pithy line is great for selling shampoo but woefully inadequate for discussing life and politics.
