The main problem with vibe-coded games isn't bad code or even AI art. It's that you can generate years of implementation in days, but not years of playtesting, iteration, and design judgment. A game can be finished in a weekend. That doesn't mean it's been designed.

that's a really interesting observation. such an important process! in my experience, so much of game design it is just listening, playing through things, weighing how details interact. this very patient, incremental process of getting all the details to work in very considered ways together.

the world in my lifetime used to be a really beautiful, strange, occasionally cynical but always new, place. it's been difficult in the last year to feel like that world has died, replaced with nothing but a recycled version of itself. most of us sleepwalking, the few of us awake perpetually crying.
