Thought it'd be neat to share a little teardown of my last picture. When I do shaded black and white art like @puertero.bsky.social's Tanner here, I do MOST of the shading on a hatching layer with an untextured pen brush, but I also layer some flat gray shades underneath to help with the contrast.
