Years ago, I had a one-way ticket to Amsterdam, ready for a new life Then I got my (then) dream job, and stayed in London I don’t regret it for a second. I met my life partner in London. Half my chosen family are there But today in Amsterdam, I’m contemplating how life could have been different

Utterly shit day at work, ended up crying in a back room again. I will say though, a silver lining to this is every time it happens I get a nice supportive hug from one of the broad-shouldered young men (decades my junior) who work at my library.
