The oath is a legal pledge to support and defend the Constitution. It respects the nonestablishment clause of the Constitution. “For God and country” is not even any official tagline historically, although it is a saying. General Douglas MacArthur used it in 1962 at West Point during a speech.
Show PostStatistics indicate that there’s no way that they are all Christian at a normal ceremony. If he was speaking to Christians alone that would even be worse. Non-Christians have always served our nation. This disrespects them & the Constitution. He & CREC don’t understand the God he’s referring to.
