And photos are from the Second Edition of Jane Eyre - I have only Bols I & II of three and they are falling apart, but 2nd edn is significant as CB dedicated it to Thackeray, whose novels she admired, not knowing that he had a mad wife who was in an asylum 😱 (cue London meeja circus gossip)
