Not like the church ever lived up to those values. Secularization did far more to bolster human welfare & dignity than the religious repression of the bad old days.

Blaming Democrats for Republican lawlessness is pointless in a democracy where the Republicans, and not the Democrats, have voted for nonsense like trickle down economics and that not everyone is equal.

Well you said they were "abandoning us and moving right" which this doesn't show. It shows considerations of doing so, which would be abhorrent, but it hasn't happened and might not just like countless proposals from decades past. Unfortunately the fact that the Democrats have conservative- 1/2
