The conspiracist in me is starting to think that reducing (or outright restricting) air travel is actually a goal of the regime in order to make it easier to control and more difficult to quickly travel around the country (like, say, to DC) and/or leave the country (like, say, to flee persecution).

It took seeing adult bullies to understand that my childhood bullies didn’t even really want to hurt me, they just wanted to feel powerful and how I felt about it wasn’t even in the equation. I can’t imagine someone not outgrowing that, but apparently it happens quite a lot!
