in a lot of ways the most important shot of the film is the end when it shows Fielder in the ocean with Holmes after he said earlier in the film that wasn't something he was comfortable doing.

This is most of writer's block. The other kind is when you know what to write but it's missing a key element that will make it snap into place. You *can* write, but it's slow and drudgery. Then you find the missing piece and you're doing 15,000 words a day as it pours out.
