Good stomp around the Dwyfor valley after heavy rain last night. River too high for Dippers, but lots of fungi. I think these are Candlesnuff Fungus (Xylaria hypoxylon) and Beechwood Sickener (Russula nobilis), but happy to be corrected. Xylaria hypoxylon would be a new 10-km record @cofnod.org.uk

An excellent morning birding on Carmel Head, the highlight being finding the 10th record of Dartford Warbler for Anglesey. My first UK record away from known breeding areas.

For #FossilFriday, a sampler from yesterday's sarcopterygian lab for EARTH 437: Vertebrate Paleontology. First off, the onychodont station featuring material of Onychodus from the Middle Devonian of Ohio.

It is #FossilFriday again! This week we have been finishing a paper on Aspidella and Triforillonia. Aspidella is the most widely named #Ediacaran genus, though few occurrences resemble the type species A. terranovica. Aspidella sadly has become a bit of a wastebasket taxon synonymous with disc.
