Great night at Watatunga, the rain held off long enough to catch common, soprano and Nathusius pipistrelles as well as Daubenton's bats and this beautiful noctule! We tagged target species with Blubat tags which give us exciting new tracking data for our research on the bats movements. 🦇

🦇🦇🦇 Basking on the warm floor of his temporary home, the little long eared bat has increased his weight to over 8g this morning. That's a 65% increase in less than four days. Don't they know how to grab that second chance? Even I am surprised. 😅 Release tomorrow night. #lovebats #batcare

🦇🦇🦇 The bright lights of Bowness town centre lured this Brown long-eared youngster out of his woodland home. Desperately thin when rescued at 4.87g. He drank puppy milk, ate a waxworm and now thinks he doesn't need me anymore. He will be here a while, I'd say he's misinformed. 😅 #lovebats #batcare

🦇 I've cared for a lot of bats of different species over 30 years. But is there anything to beat a dinky juvenile soprano pipistrelle? #lovebats #batcare #cuteness
