Show PostDisagree. If they are gonna save your knees on the way down they ain’t dead weight going up. I also use them to give me a push with each step uphill. And with good technique they help with rock hopping. And make good tent poles. I used to snear at them but now they’re indispensable

Comet Falls drops 300 ft in its plunge down the cliff. According to the NPS, it is thought to be named for a comet's tail. It is also one of the park's most spectacular waterfalls, reached via an uphill trail. Mount Rainier National Park #nationalparks #hiking #trails #waterfalls #Washiington
