I can find a knob or a button without looking, and then my fingers have something to make contact with and rest against. Touchscreen UI elements do not have that.

The problem with touchscreen-only interfaces is not just about the interface design. Touchscreens are inherently bad at the type of behavior you need to do in a moving vehicle, at arms length, while driving. Bumps and Gforces cause fingers to move *inches* at the end of the arm. That’s bad.

Personally, no. Family members, yes. I abhor the Tesla interface and interior. Personally, had problems with a different vehicle. But I put my money where my mouth is and got an EV with physical knobs and buttons. We enjoy it *much* more. Tesla is a terrible interface. Rivian’s is actually OK - but:
