seven years ago today i started transitioning. it's not a great time to be trans but i wouldn't have the life i do or the career i have if i hadn't taken the leap and done the hard thing. you only get one chance at living. if you're not doing it authentically, what's the point?

there's a narrative out there that transitioning is pointless because it won't fix all of your problems. it far from fixed all of mine. but it gave the baseline to function in life and now i feel so much better equipped to handle the things it didn't fix

when you live a life where you are actualizing yourself, everything flows from there. i'm not on autopilot anymore. i am doing what i am supposed to be, being who i was always supposed to be.

my lesson for everyone from this, cis or trans, is that you have to take the leap and make the choice to do the thing that makes you happy. you have to live for yourself and as yourself because nobody will make you do it.

i don't really know why i am this way. maybe i spent too much time with my mom as a kid, maybe im cursed by god, maybe i loved scully from the x files too much. but i couldn't really function if i was any other way and im grateful that i ended up the way i am.
