And I second the "ask the person who either flies that type of aircraft the most or practices engine failure the most."
Show PostBe up front about it. Review the emergency procedure. Identify the critical phases of flight where it would be the worst time and agree to a sterile cockpit during those times. List the things you want to knock the rust off and sequence them in with the engine checks in a way that makes sense.
