I'm seeing a lot of "Luigi Mangione might be innocent" takes and I just want to remind you that legally, he IS innocent. Literally every person charged with a crime is legally innocent until and unless a judge or jury finds them guilty. It's not that they MIGHT be innocent. They simply are.

As someone who writes so much about this kind of violence I think a lot about how difficult it can be to navigate speaking loudly about violence, especially sexual violence, without creating a spectacle of it. In a society that defaults to treating sexual violence as exactly that.
