#WildflowerHour A few Thrift, Armeria maritima still in bloom at Green Bridge of Wales, near Pembroke. I have been intrigued by the blue colour of the anthers. Any comments?

#WildflowerHour Mexican Fleabane, Erigeron karvinskianus a fairly common pavement and wall plant near houses in the Monmouth area. Cultivated in Britain since 1856 and found naturalized in Guernsey in 1891. I found Plant Atlas useful in this post. Thank you.

I just signed a petition calling on the EU to defend the International Criminal Court against Trump’s attacks. The EU has a powerful tool that could protect international law - mass public pressure will force them to act. Join me and add your name now: action.wemove.eu/sign/2026-10...

The♀️stigma is a pink star at the centre. There are 10 ♂️ stamen, 5 open initially to reveal yellow pollen-bearing anthers. The others remain closed as orange pods bent out to the petals. As the 1st 5 wither the remainder open giving the flowers a 2nd wave of pollen release. Amazing! 🌸 #wildflowerhour

Absolutely loved taking a closer look at Herb-Robert today. Not uncommon, but what a beautiful flower. 🩷 I love the hairs growing up the stem and the candy pink and white petals. But I was most intrigued by the reproductive parts of the flower so did some reading when I got home. #wildflowerhour
