I was told in late 2024 by an NYPD commanding officer that when the march exceeds 600 people, they can’t stop it. Under Mamdani, that clearly political nitpicking stopped. This march, which was predominantly press (if you exclude the also-predominant NYPD), fell well below 600 people.
