That’s essentially what withdrawal agreement protection is anyway. It’s all we are asking for.

That’s right. It required purchase of property (without mortgage in Spain) of €500k+ in the name of one individual (not joint). Applies only to purchases after 2013. Spouse can benefit if €500k threshold reached by one spouse. But can’t be shared. It’s now been withdrawn.

So I get why people are defensive about Schengen and 90/180 and I'm not here to back Andrew's idea. Nonetheless, it's interesting how arrangements exist or have existed that they would tell us could never happen. Another to file under 'the EU would never'.
