It's part of an overall escalation, and the election is probably one of the reasons... the government has been trying to push Palestinians into an uprising in the West Bank, arguably since Oct 7 but they are doubling their efforts.

I think this is true and astute, I also wonder if the cultural stew we’re in rn makes it challenging to take strong action against the state of Israel and their heinous conduct w/o dumping a disproportionate amount blame and danger on Israeli citizens en masse, regardless of their personal opinions

Personally, I think what really threatens American Jews is insisting our safety is dependent on denying what the whole world sees, that the Israeli gov committed war crimes against Palestinian civilians. Force people to think protecting Jews means denying reality, and they will stop caring about us.
