One way in which the Blacksky feed differs from Black Twitter is its aggressive moderation of hate speech towards minority populations. On Black Twitter, and Twitter/X as a whole, hate speech could be reported and an account could be blocked, but that type of speech would still be widely available.

Blacksky feed differs from the digital space of Black Twitter because as shown Black Twitter was originally created as a shared safe haven for Black creators to relate to one another,as time passes it became infiltrated & become a commodity. While Blacksky’s algorithm won’t allow for infiltration.

for one, you can actually sign up to engage with blacksky. also, the blacksky feed has built in protections for black people. fraser has a group of moderators who are committed to weeding out anti black harassment. that type of care for the safety of black users wasn’t present with twitter

Black Twitter grew organically as a cultural hub within a hostile platform, whereas Blacksky was intentionally built as a digital space that prioritizes safety, moderation, and Black community agency.
