@momentsingraphics.bsky.socialPSA: HPG 2026 is being livestreamed on Youtube, so even if you aren't able to make the conference in person, you can still see all of the presentations: www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2V8... Show PostThird paper: "Illumination-Aware Spatial Subdivision for Path Guiding" by Zheng et al. Path guiding is a technique where renderers learn indirect illumination distributions during a render and use that learned representation to continuously improve sampling... (12/17)
Show Postinspired by @boggo.bsky.social 's fluff which uses atomic-max points scattered by a DoF circle of confusion to do stylised bokeh blur, I tried implementing the awesome recent paper jorisar.nl/gaussian_poi... by @momentsingraphics.bsky.social et al and it works well enough to be fun!
Show PostOur new Gaussian point splatting renders huge 3DGS scenes in real time (e.g. 425M⬇️). It samples pixel-sized points from the Gaussians with massive parallelism and splats them to the screen using 64-bit atomics. The SIGGRAPH 2026 paper, code and video are out now: jorisar.nl/gaussian_point_splatting/
