I know it’s some kind of trope that parents become gender-essentialists once they have a son & a daughter, but man, my 4yo boy does require a lot more civilizing reinforcement to learn basic rules than his sister. And that’s not even taking into account that he’s constantly trying to craft weapons.

I'm glad that evolutionary psych folk are trying to clean up the messes in the field. I also think it's fine for people to abandon fields one is no longer happy with, though Life is short and a huge perk of academia is that you can study whatever the hell you like
