Agree. And this expectation on teachers to tell parents their kid is using a different pronoun. It's ridiculous and has nothing to do with their job. Next it'll be if they're having sex, or smoking, or taking the Lords name in vain, lol.

Well being trans (especially for kids) doesn't automatically mean medical intervention, either. It's usually changing a name and trying out new pronouns. The parents may be unsafe to come out to, and outing someone against their will is literally violence. So it happens, for good reason.

There is much to admire in Abdul El-Sayed's response to the GOP plant in his audience. But one of the most deft things he did was to point out (twice) that our Constitution protects our right to follow *no* religion, thereby casting Christian nationalist Tommy as the actual religious extremist.
