It’s a shame I never learned how to draw until post-forum/LJ online, because I always admired the prestigious position of “One of The Few Local Artists” and how they served as important community vehicles for storytelling. One E-Local Artist could entertain 30 malnourished FFT yaoi fans for weeks
Show PostThe eruption of mass fanart media is an interesting phenomenon and I am mostly enjoying cute memories of how 20 silly teenage girls online would all lose it at an inside joke about like adachi and cabbage for a few weeks and then The Artist Descends and draws the joke and we all Lose Our Marbles
Show PostIt can no longer be understood by modern fans just how high a barrier to fanart or art or sharing images online PERIOD there used to be back then and why specifically one person you knew knowing how to draw was a Big Fucking Deal.
