"Don't engage" is such a hard lesson and it took me a lot of years to learn it. Im still tempted! Sometimes people say the most frustrating shit in the world and it just feels like being unacceptably passive to just let it go, but thats the trap. You're immediately judged harsher by replying at all.

People *still* talk about how they don't think I engaged well with an absolute rage-bait comment that a Running With Scissors dev left on a video of mine twelve years ago. Everything you say in your defense will be scrutinized for tone, texture, and then misinterpreted in the worst ways.

"Don't post" is best, but "Dont reply" is second best. The acknowledgement is really what detractors are looking for in the first place, because whatever they get can be then twisted into more ammunition against you. Say you what you mean well enough to let it stand, that has to be enough.
