I also just inherently think the line between romance and friendship shouldn't be so strict. A partner should be just as much a friend as they are a lover, just expressed differently sometimes. I also think ppl should be at least a little bit in love with their closest friends even in platonic form.

because of them being unable or scared to express their feelings of love in the real world since it rejects them so harshly. People need an outlet and so it's not unreasonable they find that outlet in fictional pairings. I think both of these things can be true and should be talked about.
