This is also how private schools maintain 100% college acceptance rates. You can't just make the curriculum challenging because the legacy dumdums need to be able to get decent grades. So you quietly force out the kids who won't get into college.

Yup. This is a key part of the "die on the vine" scheme — you push all the most costly students like those with special needs, onto the public schools, which give the private schools a comparitive advantage, and then as more non-special-needs kids leave the public schools go into a death spiral

yup. private schools also usually have lower standards of qualification and vetting for teachers and less transparency re: stuff like abuse allegations than public schools. Not a coincidence why, for example, so many sex abuse scandals happened in Catholic schools. bsky.app/profile/hern...

They absolutely do and might not even be wrong, since private schools can simply expel students that have disciplinary problems, while public schools are compelled to keep all students unless they are so violent that they get sent to juvenille detention bsky.app/profile/eins...

Yes. The conservative scheme for education is a three-way split: high-priced academies for the children of the wealthy, religious instruction to brainwash the middle class, and a rump of prison-like public schools to discipline the lower class into obedience.
