i think some of the complexity comes from there being so many different servers for Mastodon. when Bluesky first started out it was just Bluesky and and even now they don't like show off Northsky, Eurosky or Blacksky when you sign up

if you want as little GenAI and algorithm as possible, Mastodon might be your best bet for micro blogging. they don't forbid GenAI Commits to their code but instead strongly encourage human work and so far i havn't seen Mastodon announce any GenAI Initiates

if however you can't just ignore Attie, not going to condemn you, just realize going back to Twitter is doubling down since Twitter copied the bad version of the image carrousel Bluesky initially rolled out, i predict Grok's going to copy Attie in the future in a worse way

so along as Bluesky doesn't try and shove Attie in our faces like Twitter does with Grok, i reckon we can ignore it and go on with our day, after all how many of us forgot Attie existed before that announcement on Twitter?
