Whenever we are finally able to unravel all the details of the Venezuelan oil theft to uncover all the bribes, kickbacks and corruption by American and Venezuelan politicians, greedy oligarchs & swindlers it’s going to make Trump’s $2 billion crypto scam look like an appetizer.

We all want a stable trading relationship with the US. But we cannot build Canada’s economy around the whims of an unpredictable American President. We need to protect workers’ rights, reform EI so it supports people when they need it, and match tariffs, including on energy, as necessary.

It was great to celebrate two amazing local organizations with @catmckenney.bsky.social this afternoon. First, we joined Belong Ottawa for their summer BBQ at The Well (at St. John’s Church on Elgin). They offer meals and respite space to people experiencing poverty and homelessness.
