ugh, i've come across a handful of games on Next Fest that look like my kind of thing but they're utterly soured by using generative AI for a some of the artwork, or some of the music, or some frustratingly small thing that I can't overlook

If you try to sell a console for $1500 and a used $700 gaming computer can play almost all the same games and do it better, then console is fucked. Like, proper and completely fucked. There's absolutely zero incentive to upgrade.

I've reached a point where I'm not excited about any new games😭 It's just with all the layoffs, slop garbage, the corporate greed & just general awfulness of the games industry, that spark of excitement is non-existent.
