Socializing is hard, I get it, but if you want to run an art business, you have to learn how to interact with others. People are drawn to passion and creativity, not just pretty lines and colors. Be open and loud. So many artists have extinguished their spirits to appear more corporate and it blows.

You can’t build any meaningful sort of following if you aren’t eager to also support and share the work of your fellow artists. Why should people be invested in your work if you don’t appear to show any interest in art in general?

Something I see a lot of well-meaning artists do is get discouraged when they post their work here and don’t receive feedback. You have to be social on social media. Posting and running, without ever engaging with others and their craft will not give you the results you want. Art is about community.
