One last suggestion. Let someone teach him Guitar Boogie. Famous, dead simple, sounds awesome and once you discover you can play it the rest will follow. It works, but need someone to show the trick. There are tutorials on YT , BUT FIRST YOU NEED A PRRSONAL EXPLANATION HOW TO DO THE LEFT HAND.
