Andres Lopez at #EEA2025 : identified a hammerhead shark nursery area in Costa Rica! They’ve since tagged over 1,500 sharks and rays in the area, leveraging critical hammerhead habitat studies to study other species as well.

Rachel Mawer at #EEA2025 : Tracked four species of skate in Bristol Channel, which will be the site of a new nuclear power plant. Surrounding waters are important habitat. Some skates moved 90 km or more, some stayed very close to where they were tagged.

Roxani Naasan Aga Spyridopoulou at #EEA2025 : To protect endemic Rough Skates, we need data on their populations, and how often fishermen catch them as bycatch. Good news- these animals have extremely high post-release survival if fishermen are trained in proper handling techniques.
