This article came out six weeks ago, there's enough public evidence that @foreignpolicy.com let me say "bribed" without caveat, and still, the new Kushner revelations show he was BRIBED. Directly bribed. Right into secret foreign accounts bribed. Massively corrupt, ultimately world-changing bribes.

JD Vance has apparently calculated that his best chance of becoming president is getting the 2028 GOP nomination (probably correct) and his best chance to get that is by being the worst human being possible (likely correct too). Making it easier, that "lane" seems to align with his personal views.
