Whenever Thomas was to be mended he made it quite clear there was only one engine he would trust to take over his branchline duties. Despite being wary of Ryan when he first arrived Thomas couldn't think of a better engine to entrust the line to while he was away.

Ryan didn't care where he worked. When the Harwick branch wasn't busy he would work just about anywhere. He shuttled back & fore across the islands with goods, his little plaques below his smokebox letting everyone know where he had come from as he passed with a friendly peep. #ttte #trainz
