i don’t think you can atone for assault, but he has done what almost no perpetrator has, which is respect the victim’s wishes, turn himself in, change, and acknowledge what he did when it came to light. maybe he doesn’t deserve flowers but as a victim i want to believe someone is capable of change

as much as people want blood especially for a crime that is rarely punished (even in his case where he asked!!) im not sure what anyone wants here. i wish anyone took me seriously. i wish the cops bothered to show up. i wish i didn’t have to live wondering if where i am now is safe

im conflicted i think. if it’s true both he and the victim went to the uni and he’s dedicated himself to being a progressive since, as well as the victim requesting privacy, that’s the best case scenario. A world where a victim receives acknowledgment and the perpetrator atones is what i wish i got
