I've said it before, but there really is not a single bad picture of Meiko Kaji. So great to see her being celebrated like this, she's such a rare screen actor; able to hold your attention from anywhere in frame just with a gaze. You can't teach that.

Wandering Ginza Butterfly (1972) Ashamed of her past, an ex-con gets a job as a hostess in a Tokyo night club, but finds her skills as a pool hustler comes in handy when yakuza tries to overtake the club. Starring Meiko Kaji, from the very prolific #pinky director Kazuhiko Yamaguchi.

This book by Chris Desjardins is a incredible treasure trove. Also highly recommended his #book "Outlaw Masters of Japanese Film". It contains also many great interviews with Kinji Fukasaku, Eiichi Kudo, Shinichi ‘Sonny’ Chiba, Meiko Kaji, Takashi Miike ...😊 #filmsky #japan #yakuza #cinema
