Um, that caricature has been repeatedly discredited. He's a tough negotiator rather than a centrist doormat, but he's a skilled legislator who can compromise when necessary. He hammered-out that landmark veterans’ bill with McCain. He was also the "roll call amendment king from 1995 to 2007."
