A5. I believe that all students involved in bullying need a safe space and a listening ear, bully included. I do not think children want to be bullies for no reason. Working with kids forces you to look at all the different perspectives to ensure everyone's wellbeing. #TeacherEd #SafeSchools

Imaking yourself available and a safe space is most important. The bullying may not stop right away but at least they know they have someone to turn to if need be. As educators I also feel it is necessary to pull the bully aside and speak with them. Maybe this is the only behavior that is familiar.

We were taught about this in one of our trainings, and specifically asking the student to help come up with the repairing action. I had to take a step back and, instead of telling a student to apologize, say 'is there something you'd like to say?' because it's more powerful when it comes from them.

A4. I think the biggest challenge comes from the gray areas regarding what constitutes as bullying versus conflict. Clear and frequent reminders and/or professional development opportunities should be provided to all staff to ensure the safety and wellbeing students. #TeacherEd #SafeSchools
