My Monday: wake up, discover cat is missing. Panic. Find cat (2-story fall off balcony, thankfully into a fern bed), spend hour coaxing cat from under building, call vet to add cat visit to dog’s appointment in PM, go to my radiation treatment, take dog and cat to vet. Pay vet bill. I need a drink.

My 16 year old is a bright light. Sometimes when I walk into a room she squeals the same way she does when she sees our dogs, with her teeth gritted and her fists clenched: “OMG you are so CUTEEEEEE! I just wanna squish you!!” followed by an aggressive hug...
