Mimicking the original delivery would be such a ridiculous disservice. You just need to consider Japanese cultural nuances like Wa, especially honne VS tatemae (and how they sound in real life), to understand that mimicking would push any adaptation further from an equivalent media experience.

Having studied Japanese in university, I know you just can’t get a 1:1 translation. Some stuff can be translated directly if it’s simple, but other stuff can’t. It’d come off as well too clunky to our ears as native English speakers.
